December crept up on us…

Already December! This term has just absolutely flown by. Christmas is a time to be spent with family, and I will be doing very little work over the holidays. Unfortunately, the lecturers believe this is the perfect time for courseworks. This means whatever I don't get done before the holidays, will have to be done when I get back! Going to be a rough beginning to the New Year! On another note, the modules are all going well. Continue reading →

Graduation Ceremony, Christmas and New Years Eve

"We hope you will not forget us....pause.....and If you become rich or very rich...Pause.... we will not forget you." This was the sentence said by the Chancellor of the University of Southampton at the graduation ceremony on 17th Dec 2008, which provoked laughter in the audience. The graduation ceremony went well (though unexpectedly...:)), due to a number of factors which made it an awesome event of my life. First of all the weather was very sunny (Thank GOD no more freezing cold). Continue reading →

A Very Fiendish Technical Report

Merry Christmas Everyone! With my last lectures of term out of the way this morning Iā€™m now truly free to join in with the Christmas spirit! We have Slade blaring away in the background and Iā€™m about to wrap presents for my flatā€™s party tonight. Weā€™re hopefully going ice-skating in the town centre this afternoon too, which Iā€™m really looking forward to! Fast forward to tomorrow and Iā€™ll be back enjoying the creature comforts of home, though Iā€™m going to really miss being here. Continue reading →

MSc experiences at ECS

MSc experiences at ECS "You must answer this question": You will probably be wondering what this sentence has to do with my introduction. Well it is the sentence I say to everyone who complains about the difficulty of my name: "Mustansar" ā€˜Must-Ansarā€™ (Pronounced Must Answer). More frankly you can call me 'Musi', my nickname, and my friends call me by this name. I have been here in ECS for the last year. Continue reading →

Network Issues over Christmas

OK, I know it's been absolutely AGES since I've last updated this. Two months and a bit. It's a disgrace, I know and I'm terribly sorry. I've been busy. I was probably busy doing stuff other than work, but nonetheless, faffing is still an activity :P At least we've got loads more bloggers to fill in the gap this time around. I can't believe how much the ECS student blogging community has grown and they're writing some pretty good stuff as well. Continue reading →

Seasons Greetings

Roast turkey. Crackers. Party hats. The Queenā€™s speech. Watching the Great Escape. These are the main traditions of Christmas Day, and of the Christmas holiday in general. And for the next three years, I can add a large helping of coursework and revision to that list. Although there is only one day of term left as I write this, I still have to hand in one piece of coursework and do a maths exam. Continue reading →

No Santa Outfit Yet, There’s Maths to be Learnt

Christmas is getting nearer, but I canā€™t don my false beard and Father Christmas outfit just yet. There are still several coursework deadlines to be met before Christmas, along with several more tests in the Maths modules. These add up to a considerable amount of work, and there will not be much relaxing until they are completed. Tickets have gone on sale for the ECS Christmas party, which takes place on the 8th December. Continue reading →

A Needed Break Over Christmas

Weā€™re back to the reality of university after a much-needed and in most cases much-deserved break over Christmas, where I for one spent so much time worrying about how much work I had to do that I didnā€™t have much time to do any - although I did find that mulled wine helped with this, in some way I just canā€™t remember how. Itā€™s all kicking off as the end of term approaches with coursework deadlines, exams to revise for and the almighty Group Design Project final presentation. Continue reading →
