A Very Fiendish Technical Report

Merry Christmas Everyone!
With my last lectures of term out of the way this morning I’m now truly free to join in with the Christmas spirit! We have Slade blaring away in the background and I’m about to wrap presents for my flat’s party tonight. We’re hopefully going ice-skating in the town centre this afternoon too, which I’m really looking forward to! Fast forward to tomorrow and I’ll be back enjoying the creature comforts of home, though I’m going to really miss being here. Put simply, can life really get any better than this?! Well I suppose it could if I didn’t have quite so much work to do over the holidays. I’ve got a lot of coursework to do including a very fiendish looking technical report to write, which I know is going to be lots of fun… Also, exams are looming just two weeks into the New Year so revision a-plenty is called for. They might sound similar but exams and Xmas just don’t mix unfortunately! Ok I apologise – that was worse than most cracker jokes, but then that’s half the fun isn’t it? What do you call people who are afraid of Santa Claus?
Now is the perfect opportunity to reflect on the last 11 weeks here at Southampton and what an amazing time I’ve had. Firstly, I’ve learned a huge amount. The academic side has been fascinating and despite arriving here with an Electronics A-level under my belt, I’ve done a load of cool new stuff. Secondly, I’ve learnt a load of life skills what with cooking for yourself everyday and all the other things that have to be done that I don’t think many of us quite appreciated properly before. Thirdly – and arguably most importantly – I’ve met so many truly amazing people and made loads of great friends. It’s been a really special time and I’m going to really miss seeing them all everyday whilst we’re away.
All it remains for me to do is to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year! See you in 2009!
P.S: In case you’re wondering – people who are afraid of Santa Claus must be Claustrophobic……*ahem*
