First Year is Almost Over

So this is it, two more exams and first year is over. I can hardly believe that it was 8 months ago that I left what I knew and came to Southampton to start my degree. If you had told me what I would have been up to before I started I would have thought you were crazy ... getting BUCS points for canoe polo, winning our league and cup for rugby, caving for half of my Easter, doing my kayaking 3* and still having time to eat, sleep, socialise and do some work. January Exams Are Over

It was a nice feeling to have a couple of days with no lectures and no work to do before semester two kicked off, restarting the cycle of lectures, revision, coursework and exams. The timetabling has not worked out brilliantly for us though. With a 9am lecture every day but Wednesday (and that starts at 10am) there will be no week day lie ins this semester. Continue reading →

It all gone so quickly

Less than a week left until Christmas break. The term has flown by with lots going on and not enough time to do it all in. Everyone seems to have settled in and found the things they want to do. I said before to give everything a go. Do it! I have found something that I didn’t even know existed before I came to uni. Canoe polo is an unusual sport (something like rugby and basketball in a kayak) but I really enjoy it and it gives me time to relax and have fun. Continue reading →
