First Year is Almost Over

So this is it, two more exams and first year is over. I can hardly believe that it was 8 months ago that I left what I knew and came to Southampton to start my degree. If you had told me what I would have been up to before I started I would have thought you were crazy … getting BUCS points for canoe polo, winning our league and cup for rugby, caving for half of my Easter, doing my kayaking 3* and still having time to eat, sleep, socialise and do some work.

Everyone is looking forward to the summer and everyone seems to be doing something completely different whether it be doing an internship, travelling around the world, meeting up with old friends or going out and about kayaking or caving. There will be some good stories come the start of next year.

All the coursework has been handed in and marks have started coming back but exams have taken over focus now. The sun has made revision so much more bearable. Everyone has been sat out on the grass with their notes, whether they were reading them or not. The exam halls are sweltering and other universities seem to have finished for the year but I wouldn’t have swapped my year at Southampton for any of them. It’s been a good year, let’s hope this carries on for the next three.
