Social media is growing in importance in the recruitment process, data has revealed that 70% of employers actually check out potential employee’s social media profiles . This is easily done with readily available networks such as LinkedIn which functions to help individuals network professionally (Mind Tools, 2018). In the past, one’s online identity could be detached from real life, however, in recent times the two have been more interconnected (Krotoski, 2012).
