Preparing your final assessed posts
Some points to bear in mind:
Please don’t attempt to summarise the whole module, or repeat extracts from your own contributions to the module. This task is about reflecting specifically on what you are going to take forward, in terms of:
1. the approach you will take to your learning on future modules
2. how you will keep building your own online professional profile
Think back to the audit you completed at the start of the module. What’s changed for you since then, and why?
Make sure you provide the specific plan for your ideas. For example, don’t just say vaguely “I’m going to work on my LinkedIn profile”. Instead, you might say something like “I’m going to join group A that I found on LinkedIn, because it holds regular local networking events for marketers, and I will aim to attend one meeting per month and participate in the online discussions in between these events”.
Provide the evidence base where relevant – for example, if your view on a particular topic has been changed by the module, say what changed your mind and why (was it an article you read, or a particular discussion with a colleague – and quote the link that you are referring to).
Also think about prioritising your ideas – which of them are “quick wins” that will be easy to implement? Which might take longer, or require some extra training? Set yourself some specific, achievable and measurable objectives.
Please post your work on your blog using the category “final assessed posts”.
And finally – keep in touch. Feel free to interact with the next group of students who will be starting at the end of January using #UOSM2008. We would love to hear how you are getting on!
