Reviewing my digital portfolio development throughout this module #uosm2008

My personal online presence has altered greatly over the course of this module I have strived to engage with new platforms and better use my existing profiles to improve my online professional profile. While I had maintained a blog during my year abroad last year I decided to use privacy settings to effectively take it offline, believing some content might be too personal. Prior to the module I had taken the view it was to my advantage to remain anonymous online. Continue reading →

UOSM2008 FINAL SUMMARY

My current online activities and subsequent online professional profile have greatly developed over the course of this module. I now appreciate and utilise the online professional, employability and networking opportunities that I once failed to identify – previously favouring the web as a platform for socialisation and recreation. This progression began with the management of my online security. Continue reading →

Topic 6 -Module Summary

Before taking UOSM2008 my professional online presence was virtually non-existent other than my Facebook account and sales website which did not have my name to it directly -though I was careful about my digital footprint, favouring nothing to be found than anything negative. This module has given me the time and a useful peer network to help develop my professional profiles, as well as convincing me of the benefits to ensuring positive online content is available for employers to find. Topic 6: Online Portfolio

I really enjoyed the module as well as giving my opinion about various topics for discussion we had. I’d say the most interesting one for me was probably the second one, where we discussed online identities and personalities. I would say that on some of the topics I felt it’s difficult to express myself completely, but hopefully I did alright. Continue reading →

The final reflection – UOSM2008

Prior to undertaking the module UOSM2008 Living and Working on the Web, my knowledge of managing my employability through the use of the web was limited. I didn’t use twitter, I had never had a blog and I didn’t have a LinkedIn profile – so I feel my development on this module is quite clearly evident in my self-test! Something I changed very early on in the module was my privacy settings on my Facebook. Continue reading →
