Topic 2: Online Identity, Privacy and Security

In a society that is becoming more reliant on the ‘online’ world, with technology constantly improving and evolving the way we interact with others, Digital Identity is important. An online identity is “who we say we are, when we are online” (Koosel, n.d) and in the digital sense is the “electronic data that references us as an individual” (Warburton, 2010). This means that each digital platform that an individual engages, will be a piece of their digital identity. Continue reading →

#UOSM2008 Topic 1 Summary

After the first topic on ‘Digital Visitors’ and ‘Digital Residents’, I have slowly adjusted to the difference in learning style on this module. I never thought that learning from a group of different people, all with their own views would be so effective. At the beginning of this module after doing my own research to write my blog post, my strongest views were that individuals could be both a ‘digital resident’ and ‘digital visitor’ dependent on which area of their life it was.
