Reflection on topic 3

It’s time to think back again to the beginning of topic 3. We were given the task to discuss ways in which an authentic professional profile can be developed, and I started of thinking about what authenticity means and how can you use authenticity in building your professional profiles.

After writing my blog post, and reading posts on the topic from others, commented and read comments, I feel like I have gotten a broader insight on the topic and some new ideas on other ways to create an authentic professional online profiles. My post was mainly on dos and don’ts to create these on LinkedIn. Others focused more on twitter and other platforms which was really interesting.

To conclude on the topic these are important things to create authentic content for your professional online profile:

– true and honest
– represent the real you
– all of your professional online (and public personal) profiles should represent the same peak and not clash with each other so that your profile is clear and true.

You can create a professional profile on many different online platforms. The biggest one and most straight forward ‘professional’ one is no doubt LinkedIn. Sites such as twitter is becoming more and more usual for building a professional profile as well, and the platform makes it really easy to engage yourself with potential employers or for businesses to engage with employees.
