Topic 1: Reflective Summary on Digital Visitors and Residents

It has been such an enriching process reading the blog posts of my fellow classmates regarding their views on Digital Visitors and Residents. I have been able to find relatable points to the topic itself as well as varying answers regarding certain issues. Relating to Yishin’s post, she mentioned that even though a resident may seemingly be adroit in technology due to the extensive periods of time they spend on it, it does not prove that they are indeed highly literate. After spending my weekends reviewing most of my colleagues’ blog post, I get to have many different viewpoints. Most consider themselve as a “Resident” but , some find themselves as a culprit of both- the “in-between”. I have previously overlooked certain points as how some “digital immigrants” can be more tech savvy than the “digital natives”. Reflective Summary – Digital Visitors & Residents

The scaffold of Digital Visitors and Residents has proved contentious.  While it appears most people have embraced it, others have remained cynical about its consistency and practice. The academic commentary throughout the framework have helped developed people’s understanding of the matter, I am no exception. Topic 1: Reflective summary

Upon reading the two articles from my friends, I learnt that I was right about categorizing myself as a digital visitor. However, there are always two sides for everything. There was a comment left by my classmate, Shannon-a digital resident, whom agreed on the stress accumulated on her so as she tries to portray an artistic image for her viewers.
