The Biorenewables Development Centre is hosting this important event on the environmental impact of digestates on farmland, an area which is being watched closely.

Digestate from anaerobic digestion (AD) is a valuable fertiliser for crops but can also represent a pollution hazard to both soil and the air. This free workshop will consider the issue from the viewpoint of both policy makers and farmers and showcase some new technologies that might provide a solution for farmers as well as new value streams for AD operators. Using Digestate on Farmland – 17th June 2016, Driffield

AD digestate can be used as a low-cost, sustainable source of crop fertiliser and organic matter. This half-day workshop will explore the issues and latest developments around using digestate on farmland, followed by a networking lunch and optional tour of the GWE Biogas facility. The event is organised by the Biovale Cluster AD Special Interest Group, which is open to members from across the sector focusing on plant operation and efficiency.
