Having read through several of my colleagues’ post, I was able to gain a deeper insight into the differences between a ‘visitor’ and a ‘resident’. It also made me realize that hey, I’m not the only one who is a culprit of being an “in-between”! Prior to this module, I have to say that I have never thought of classifying digital users as “residents” and “visitors”. These terms are foreign to me as I blindly leech on the convenience of the digital technology without much thought. However, after reading through the articles and the blogposts that my classmates wrote, I gained a new understanding on the type of users out there. Continue reading →

After researching about the topic and reading my classmates’ thoughts on the issue, I went from a 0 to 7(?) and gained knowledge on the topic. All in all, I truly gained insightful knowledge about the concepts of “Digital Resident” and “Digital Visitor”. I have read through a handful of my peers’ WordPress blogs and realised that many of them referenced from White’s theory. Some on one hand placed themselves as “Digital Residents” whereas some on the other hand consider themselves “Digital Visitors”. Continue reading →
