We were very impressed with the quality of work produced for the final task - lots of video and other media used creatively which was great to see. A big shout out goes to Teresa Yeap for her video tour of Singapore! In general most posts had a strong focus on the development of your professional digital profiles, with effective use of screenshots, self-produced graphics and very good video, including many with their own voiceovers or even their own filming and editing. For topic 5 we challenged you to push yourselves a little harder and try something different – it was good to see a number of you responded to this with Piktocharts, Prezis and Powtoons! In your final assessed posts (due by midnight on 24th November), you might like to reflect upon any specific value you obtained from these tools that you will take forward to future modules, or to the building of your own professional online profiles. Well done for all your efforts in topic 3 - and your comments are finally being linked correctly :-) Some of you in this topic were still rather descriptive, for example in terms of explaining how to use LinkedIn. You can achieve more impact by linking to a key piece which describes how to do this, and keeping your words to discuss which aspects you might find useful/difficult to do for yourself and why. Thanks to all of you for the discussions about online identity, which on the whole are greatly improved from topic 1. Yes it is a huge area and impossible for one post to cover everything, but I hope you agree that collectively the group has produced a variety of interesting perspectives and resources on the topic. Linking Comments

There are lots of you, and only three of us. If you don't link properly to the comments you leave on the blogs of your colleagues, it makes it really hard for us to find them, and we're going to get very frustrated and probably not award you any marks because we can't find your comments! We may also overdose on coffee. So, this is the proper way to do it. Obviously, you have to write your comment and post it. The key thing is copying and pasting the right link. Continue reading →
