Hey, Iā€™m a work in progress

ā€œLearning is not restricted to classroomā€ #MANG2049 has certainly proved the point. Over the span of this module, through research, content curation, sharing and discussion,Ā I am inspired in many ways and motivated to do better. It is interesting to knowĀ how beneficial “Living and Working on the Web” could be. Let me bring you through my process of self-discovery and development over the 12 days. Continue reading →

A journey on the web.

This will be my last post under #MANG2049, Living and Working on the Web (Singapore). Before my digital journey with MANG2049, I had never thought of identifying myself as a digital visitor or a digital resident. After identifying myself as a digital visitor, I had a better understanding of what I wanted to do with my social media accounts. I have always wondered if I should create another account on Facebook. Now, I believe that it is fine to have just one account and to keep it private. Continue reading →

My Digital Literacy Journey

The progressive learning of each topic really heightened my understanding of the digital era. Before we start, let’s refresh on what was covered so far shall we? Before this, I thought that a beautifully crafted document-based CV (Curriculum Vitae) was all that is required for landing a job. Looking back, I realised how naive I was. Continue reading →

The Final Post

12 days. 12 days was all it took for me to realise the importance in keeping my online profile professional and to use the web responsibly. This is by far the only module which has taught me beyond the learning objectives. Hereā€™s a summary of what I have been working on, enjoy! Prior to starting this module, a self-evaluation was done to assess my digital literacy. I would say, there was a tremendous improvement! LinkedIn has since been termed an electronic CV. Peek into my Digital Portfolio

With Singaporeans spending an average of 2.2 hours on social sites per day, I was completely lacking in a long-term management of my presence on the web! Before VS After Before the module, my social sites were merely for personal usage. I rarely read blogs, probably once in a blue moon, I might read up on a viral blog post or fashionista blogs. I never thought about participating in online discussions or being engaged in meaningful online conversations. Continue reading →

Final Assessed Post ā€“ MANG2049

I shall start of with an enlightenment that this postĀ doesn’t contain any vlogs, voice-overs or so. I’m saving people from the horror of seeing my face and hearing my voice, haha. Now, getting to serious mode. I’m sad that the module endsĀ so soon and going to physical lectures again next week. This module has taught me more than what I thought I would be learning in this marketing degree. Continue reading →

Final Assessed Post: Itā€™s Not Quite The End #MANG2049

Source: publicdomainpictures.net Learning and Working on theĀ Web has indeed been an extraordinary learning experience. Prior to this, any Web activities were merely for communication or assignments and projects’ research that were just the peak of an amazing technological scene. Footprints & Reflections

The Journey Having been part of the digital age, I thought I was well equipped for the digital world. Until this module, I was proven utterly wrong! Indeed learning is a continuous process, this module helped me understand the intricacies of the digital world, having to balance personal and professional, ethical and unethical, social and private, and many more. I am definitely not the best equipped for the digital world, but I am certainly better equipped and more aware than I first started. Continue reading →

This is not the end.

Living on the web opened my eyes to what the internet really had to offer. It wouldnā€™t have crossed my mind to leverage the use of internet to promote myself, yet I felt ashamed that I have been using Internet merely for entertainment and personal engagement on social media. Although it is self-evident how much of the internet could be manipulated. Continue reading →
