Last chance to book your place with the Southampton Language Opportunity!

Future Modern Languages students to attend Routes into Languages Study Day

Over 100 Year 12 students and their teachers will be visiting the University’s Avenue Campus on Tuesday 19 January 2016 to participate in a Routes into Languages Study Day. Students will participate in sessions on cultural topics, grammar and speaking in French, German or Spanish, and will have the chance to do an ab initio session in Chinese or Portuguese. Bookings now open for Modern Languages evening courses starting in January

Booking is now open for a new series of Modern Languages Lifelong Learning courses starting in January. Languages include Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English as a Foreign Language, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Russian, Spanish and Portuguese. The courses on offer are ‘b’ courses, which follow on from 20 hours of previous study (so are not suitable for beginners). Third run of Modern Languages’ MOOC ‘Understanding Language: learning and teaching’ a success

Modern Languages’ MOOC ‘Understanding Language: learning and teaching’ has just completed its third run. 44,284 learners participated in the course, bringing the total number of learners who have signed up for the MOOC to 145,041. This run of the MOOC included a live session led by Professor Jennifer Jenkins, Dr Will Baker and Dr Ying Wang from Modern Languages at the University of Southampton. Continue reading →
