Mike has recently retired after a long and distinguished career as Professor of French at the University of Southampton. He has published widely in the area of French Studies and more recently in the field of languages in times of conflict and war. The 11th LLAS eLearning Symposium was held on January 21-22 at the University of Southampton. The Centre for Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies (LLAS) is part of Modern Languages at Southampton, and this annual event has become an established fixture for the language-teaching community to come together and share their work.
