Latin American Studies seminar tomorrow: “Educational Reform in Chile: competing discourses and the battle for narrative”

Modern Languages staff to present at the Language Testing Forum 2014

A number of Modern Languages staff including Clare Mar-Molinero, Roumyana Slabakova and Richard Kiely will be presenting at the Language Testing Forum 2014, taking place at the University of Southampton from 21-23 November 2014. This year’s conference will focus on the theme of ‘Language Testing: Engaging multi-disciplinary perspectives’, and offers an opportunity for language testers and language educators to engage with new developments in the field. Professor Anna Mauranen visits Modern Languages

Professor Mauranen, Vice-Rector of the University of Helsinki and Professor of English is currently spending the week within Modern Languages here at Southampton as a recipient of one of the University’s Diamond Jubilee Fellowships. Amongst other activities during her visit, she will be presenting the Centre for Global Englishes seminar: “English as Lingua Franca – Broken English?”, taking place today, Wednesday 15 October, in Lecture Theatre C, Avenue Campus, from 5:00-6:30pm.
