New recording of modern harpsichord

Visitors from Tomsk Polytechnic University for course in Delivering Through the Medium of English

We are very happy to welcome a group of 12 academics from Tomsk Polytechnic University who are be studying with us for 2 weeks beginning Monday 12 October 2015 through to Friday 23 October 2015. The delegates will be attending a “Delivering Through the Medium of English” course. Bad Music in Oslo?

Can a piece of music can be inherently bad, or are all such judgements purely subjective? Associate Professor in Composition Matthew Shlomowitz reports on a recent premier in Oslo addressing such issues. I was commissioned by the Ultima Festival in Oslo to compose a forty-minute work for the Plus Minus Ensemble, a group I direct with English composer Joanna Bailie. Ethnographic Encounters project website and workshop

The HEA-funded project Ethnographic Encounters: Using the Residence Abroad to Explore other Societies and Cultures, led by Professor Marion Demossier and Dr Lisa Bernasek from Modern Languages at the University of Southampton, has recently launched a website, which includes resources aimed at supporting students with designing and carrying out ethnographic projects during the Year Abroad, and supporting staff with teaching ethnographic methods for language students.
