Next TNS Seminar: ā€˜Globalisation on the Ground’

The next Centre for Transnational Studies (TNS) seminar will take place from 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday 18th March 2015 in Room 1177, Building 65, Avenue Campus. Celebrate International Mother Language Day this weekend!

International Mother Language Day will be celebrating its 15th anniversary this Saturday, 21 February. This event, first announced by UNESCO in 1999, aims to increase awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism around the world. It’s currently a pilot version but includes an increasing range of useful academic skill resources and a chat box linking you to a live librarian who is available to answer your questions online. Latin American Studies Seminar Series: Life Expectancy Disparities in Cuba, 1987-2007

In this month’s Latin American Studies Seminar Series, Madelin Gomez-Leon from the ESRC Centre for Population Change at the University of Southampton will be discussing his current research on life expectancy disparities in Cuba.
