Reflection: Topic 3

After reading my peers’ post, most of them are using multiple accounts. I have come to know the importance of having multiple accounts by separating personal and work life. Personally, I feel that I need to adopt this and learn the ways to maintain and manage both personal and work identities online. I have also learnt that to survive in the online world, we should not misuse the freedom of speech either on a single identity or multiple identities. Continue reading →

Multiple identities, but only you

After reading the posts, I realized that most of my colleagues are advocates of a mixture of single and multiple online identities. However, Darren pointed out a very good point about online anonymity, where it got me thinking. Both Siew Min’s and Jian Wen’s blog talks about anonymity. I further ask them about their opinions cyberbullying. Below is the information I gathered from them. Continue reading →

My Thoughts

Having to complete the final topic on network identity, I have managed to further grow my knowledge about my own online identities. My comment that i made on both Simon’s and Nichol’s blog was pertaining to past incidents that occurred in Singapore, how their personal comment on their social media went viral which got them fired from their job. In my comment i also shared with them that i adopt a multiple identities approach in order to draw the line between work and personal space. Continue reading →

Personally, I use single and multiple online identities on different platforms unless a website does not allow me to (state my identity). After reading the blogs of my peers, I have gained these insights: Made with Canva by Audrey From Jerrom’s blog, it was interesting to note that Mark Zuckerburg changed his stance on multiple identities.
