Being a digital ‘resident’ myself, I have always considered the Internet to be a ‘place’ to connect with people, share information and create content. Today the realms of business and education have also embraced social media and the internet in general to expand reach and increase impact of activities. There are many implications raised that the use of social network sites as tools have modified and innovated teaching/learning practices in academic activities.
