My #MANG2049 Journey (Final Assessed Post)

Prior to #MANG2049, I did have the experiences of learning online but it was mainly through school portals. This time, it turned out to be new experience as we were learning through live steam tutorials, blogging, taking part in the MOOC, sharing plus gaining insights with people across the globe. It was a more independent approach that required a lot of individual efforts but it definitely pushed me further to learn and overcome challenges. Continue reading →

Topic 3 “Online Identity/Identities: Throwback To Monday!

Though I have multiple online identities, I have never really thought about the challenges it gives me as I have always just seen it as a need. However, Shi Ming’s comment on my blog made me sat down and think through the kind of challenges I come across especially since there are particular profiles that I frequent more often than the others. One of the challenges would definitely be the filtering of content, to know what should I or should not post, and on which profile. Continue reading →

Topic 1 “Digital Differences”: A penny for my thought?

Source: Original content, photo taken by Ryan Hutton  After reading a few other posts on digital differences, it has further enlightened me on what causes these differences and how it affects us in the way we interact with the web. With Julian’s post and comment he left on mine, I realized that even though schools nowadays encourage us to use the internet for our learning, there are parents out there whom do not lean towards this method and restrict their children from doing so. The way we interact with the Web varies and is typically a reflection of wider social and structural inequalities (E.G. Demographics). We are all different in terms how accessible we are to technology and how online practices are displayed. Continue reading →
