Memories we share together #MANG 2049

A PowToon to illustrate my Self-test  “What? An online module..so not looking forward to it” I whined to my friends as I knew about #MANG2049. #Mang 2049 was the third module since university days started, I must admit we aren’t as close to our classmates that we will comment on each other’s work in class. Thankfully, this module gave us the opportunity to comment and learn from each other, and I  got to know more about them through the “About me” section. Continue reading →

In my blog post, I took another approach in viewing free access content as an advantage in the business point of view. Paywalls have been built. However, New York Times showed how they played around the paywalls with the “porous paywall”. “In conclusion, there isn’t a definite yes or no of whether content producer should make their content free but it comes down to the objective of their content” quote from Jieyun’s conclusion sentence. Topic 5: Information wants to be expensive because it is valuable

What was reminded of us by our lecturers after an essay is completed? A Conclusion? Or is it the Word count? No… How could we miss out citations? Advantages  If not for the open access information, I doubt I will able to acquire good reads from articles and journals for my assignments. Personally, if I were to encounter a blockage to access that article, I will naturally jump into another. Continue reading →

On this topic of ethics, I chose to touch on the user generated content as future marketers, we do need to what rights we have and what rights our customers have. Upon reading two of my classmate’s articles, I felt that ethics streamlines down to humanity. Rachel’s blog post had similarity to a book titled “So you’ve been publicly shamed” written by Jon Ronson. Rachel’s post, lead thoughts about cyber bullying act. Continue reading →

How should I market myself? Should I get started on being personal and unique by creating a blog as seen in Constance’s blog? Or should I get creative by making a video like Mark Leruste, as seen in Crystal’s blog. The answer to the above questions is: More than that. I must admit, I do not have a LinkedIn profile but I sure am creating one after finishing this reflective summary for topic 3. Continue reading →

After commenting on Siew Woon’s post, I felt that there was a misconception about stereotyping someone who owns multiple identities as being “fake”. No doubt, a part of us will immediately conclude that whatever these people say is all manipulated. Thoughts about why must they hide behind a pseudonym will never stop flowing through their minds. This must have been the thought Siew Woon experienced. She was all in for a single identity. Continue reading →

Topic 2 : An identity VS multiple identities

The breakdown of an online identity, is the partial identity of one. A persona is created from the partial identity. A persona is also created with different reasons and people that you may or may not have control of. An example would be comments made by your friends on Facebook which is creating a persona of you that can’t be controlled. Whereas, if you create another Instagram account, that is having control of yet another persona/ online identity of yours. Source: http://www. Continue reading →

Upon reading the two articles from my friends, I learnt that I was right about categorizing myself as a digital visitor. However, there are always two sides for everything. There was a comment left by my classmate, Shannon-a digital resident, whom agreed on the stress accumulated on her so as she tries to portray an artistic image for her viewers. However, as a digital visitor, I am aware of the Internet technology (IT) skills I was lacking. Continue reading →
