Online identity is defined by Internet Society as a set of characteristics that define a person. My personal opinion is that the internet is a double-edged sword. It may allow people to portray themselves as ideal versions, or be completely parallel to what happens in real life to the extent that it limits freedom and choice. Many people assume that our online identity is similar/ identical to our real identity, which is not true. So what exactly is an online identity? (Photo Source: EastAndBlog) It is the sum of interactions and characteristics on every website you visit, with each website having its own idea of your identity.
