Diamond Jubilee Project update

Anna Mauranen, Vice-Rector of the University of Helsinki and Professor of English, spent the week of 22nd February in Modern Languages working with Jenny Jenkins on the Diamond Jubilee Fellowship project, ‘Linguistic diversity on the international campus’, that they are co-directing. As well as making progress on the overall project, including catching up with the teams in seven other universities around the world, they worked on their own analytical frameworks, and on planning for the end of project workshop at the ELF10 conference  (Helsinki, June 2017), the project’s work-in-progress symposium at the ELF9 conference (Lleida 2016), and the edited volume that will be published to report the project’s findings. In addition, Anna gave a lecture for the Centre for Global Englishes as part of the ML Research Centres seminar series.
