New Italian film season begins on Monday 6 October

Modern Languages’ new Italian film season will begin on Monday 6 October 2014 with a showing of L’imbroglio nel lenzuolo (Alfonso Arau, 2010) in Lecture Theatre A, Avenue Campus, at 6:30pm. The autumn season promises an inspiring selection of films, old and new, covering different genres and subject matters. All films are introduced in Italian by a tutor, a student or a guest speaker, and are followed by a brief discussion (in Italian and English). Continue reading →

Modern Languages’ Alessia Plutino recognised in Excellence in Teaching Awards

Alessia Plutino, an Italian tutor from Modern Languages at Southampton, was recognised for her work this week at the Excellence in Teaching Awards (ETAs), hosted by the University’s Student Union. Alessia’s work with Twitter and new technologies was acknowledged twice, first with an award in the innovative teaching category for the Faculty of Humanities, and then with a high commendation for the overall University prize.
