The 12 Apps of Christmas

Students and staff may be interested in registering for the award winning 12 day online project from the Dublin Institute of Technology, The 12 Apps of Christmas. The initiative focuses on exploring 12 mobile apps, which can help students to personalise their learning and educators to support them to do so. Participants are introduced to a different app each day, over 12 weekdays (for approximately 12 minutes a day), starting on 1st December. Continue reading →

Visitors from Tomsk Polytechnic University for course in Teaching and Learning through the Medium of English

We are very pleased to welcome a group of 12 academics from Tomsk Polytechnic University who are studying with us for 2 weeks from Monday 16 November 2015 to Friday 27 November 2015. The delegates are participating in a course on “Teaching and Learning through the Medium of English”. Next CLLEAR seminar: “The Creative Use of Metaphor and Metonymy in Language Learning and Intercultural Communication”

The next Centre for Linguistics, Language Education and Acquisition Research (CLLEAR) seminar will take place on Wednesday 18 November 2015 from 4:00-6:00pm in Lecture Theatre C, Building 65, Avenue Campus. The talk is entitled “The Creative Use of Metaphor and Metonymy in Language Learning and Intercultural Communication” and will be delivered by Professor Jeannette Littlemore from the University of Birmingham.
