New Italian Film season launches on 25th January

Modern Languages’ new Italian film season will begin on Monday 25th January 2016 with a showing of Io sono Li (Alessandro Genovesi, 2011) in the new location of Lecture Theatre B, Avenue Campus, at 6:30pm. The spring season promises another interesting selection of films that will inspire you and stimulate your interest in the world of cinema and Italian culture. Improving Verses for Children

Concert at Chawton House, 11th December 2015 The performers: Lorna Beckett, Hannah Shilvock, Sabrina Beever & Archie Combe, gathered round the Stodart grand piano in the dining room at Chawton.   Our concert at Chawton went down well. It marked the 150th Anniversary of Edward Loder’s death by presenting some of his settings of Isaac Watts’s improving verses for children, best known today from their parodies in Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland”. Bookings now open for Modern Languages evening courses starting in January

Booking is now open for a new series of Modern Languages Lifelong Learning courses starting in January. Languages include Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English as a Foreign Language, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Russian, Spanish and Portuguese. The courses on offer are ‘b’ courses, which follow on from 20 hours of previous study (so are not suitable for beginners).
