Call for papers open for BALEAP 2017 conference

The call for papers for the BALEAP 2017 Conference, taking place at the University of Bristol from 7th-9th April 2017 is open. The conference theme is ‘Addressing the State of the Union: Working Together = Learning Together’ and will look at English for Academic Purposes (EAP) from a variety of different perspectives, with the aim of building bridges between different communities of practice. Modern Languages hosts Able Linguists Day

Modern Languages is welcoming over 100 Year 8 pupils for an Able Linguists Day, taking place at Avenue Campus today, Tuesday 7th June 2016. Students will participate in a mini-project in French, German or Spanish, and will have the opportunity to try a new language such as Portuguese or Chinese, plus hear a talk about how languages are useful in the world of work. Modern Languages offers Lifelong Learning intensive summer courses

Lifelong Learning at the University of Southampton has announced that it will be offering a 15-hour intensive language programme this summer, which will take place over five evenings between Monday 27th June and Wednesday 15th July, between 18:00 and 21:00. The course is aimed at those with no prior knowledge of the language, and will focus on skills required in a range of everyday situations. Continue reading →
