EuroCALL 2017 call for papers extended

The call for papers deadline for the 25th EuroCALL conference, to be held at the University of Southampton from 23rd-26th August 2017, has been extended to 20th February 2017. The conference theme is ‘CALL in a Climate of Change: Adapting to Turbulent Global Conditions’. This theme encompasses the notion of how CALL can, and is responding to changing global circumstances which impact on education, be they in economic, political or environmental spheres. Academic language skills support for University of Southampton international students

The International Centre is offering academic language skills support sessions to University of Southampton international students who want to develop their English language and academic literacy skills during their studies. In Semester 2, sessions are available in grammar, presentation skills, critical thinking, academic writing, everyday English as well as PGT Dissertation and PGR Thesis writing support in two teaching blocks. Film screening for LGBT History Month

Join us in celebrating LGBT History Month 2017 with a free event on the subject of Trans Identities on Screen: Local and Global Perspectives. The event will include a screening of Tchindas (Cape Verde, 2016) and THEY (UK, 2016), followed by a Q&A on queer and trans representation in film, with local artist and maker of THEY, Asten Holmes-Elliott, and Helen Wright, director of the Scottish Queer International Film Festival (SQIFF).
