New publication: How the Press Began by Henry Ettinghausen

Henry Ettinghausen, who joined the Department of Spanish in 1965 and was Professor of Spanish at Southampton from 1983 until he retired in 2001, has just published online How the Press Began. Recent publication: Contemporary Jewish Writing by Andrea Reiter

Significant political events in Austria in the 1980s and 90s not only triggered the first public debate about Austria’s Nazi past but also gave rise to a young vocal generation of Jewish intellectuals, many of whom spearheaded protests against the right-wing populist political forces.
