The language learning processes of students with dyslexia

Dr. Judit Kormos, Lancaster University

5.00-7.00pm Wednesday 26th November 2014, Lecture Theatre C (Avenue Campus)

Abstract: Learning another language either in a foreign language context or in a second language environment can prove to be challenging for students with dyslexia. In this talk I will discuss how cognitive factors associated with dyslexia influence language learning, and I will also demonstrate the emotional and motivational consequences these difficulties have on language learning processes. The talk concludes with some suggestions for teaching languages to dyslexic students and a brief overview of a new teacher training programme designed to assist language teachers in their work with dyslexic language learners.

All welcome!
