AHRC follow-on funding award: Madagascar in the World

Professor Ulrike Meinhof has been awarded a grant under the AHRC’s Follow-on-Funding scheme worth £100,216 for her project  ‘Madagascar in the World: the impact of music on global concerns’. The project will start on 1 December 2015, and its purpose is the co-production (with the Parisian film company Laterit) of a film, working title  ‘Songs for Madagascar’,  and its international dissemination at film festivals and through workshops. TNMundi podcasts available

Two podcasts from the TNMundi project are now available on the Media content page and below. The TNMundi project investigated the creative practices of Francophone Malagasy and North African artists. A conference on ‘Music and Migration’ in October 2009 brought together academics and musicians from Madagascar and North Africa, including the acclaimed Madagascar AllStars who are interviewed in these podcasts.
