What is it?

The Southampton Feedback Champions interviewed over 100 University staff and students to find out how to improve feedback. What did you tell us? We need to create a feedback culture in which students and staff feel supported. How do we do that?

  • - by educating students about effective feedback and their role within it
  • - by promoting a safe environment which encourages dialogue
  • - by encouraging students to take control of their learning and engage with feedback

Professor Alex Neill, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) University of Southampton

"For a university to be a successful learning organisation, feedback must be central to its processes. Feedback is a dialogue whereby all members of the university can see how they are performing and progressing and how they can improve in the future. Each member of the university is both a provider and a recipient of feedback through academic assessment, teaching evaluation or quality processes."
