For students coming up to dissertations and/or preparing for the workplace:

https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/data-to-insight (University of Auckland, starts 6/10 ) This course is a hands-on introduction to statistical data analysis that emphasises fundamental concepts and practical skills.

https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/writing-applications (University of Sheffield, starts 6/10) This free three week course will help you produce a perfect CV, application and online profile when applying for a job or course.

https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/interviews (University of Sheffield, starts 3/11) This free three week course provides the tools you need to succeed at interviews and land your dream job or course place.

https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/research-project-sep-2014(University of Southampton, started 15/9) Undertaking an Extended Project Qualification, IB extended essay or any other scholarly research? This guides you step-by-step. (Although this course has already started, it runs for 8 weeks at just one hour per week, so catching up is not difficult. It is proving very popular with students up to PhD level from all over the world.)

From this list, Shipwrecks and Web Science start on 6th October, and Digital Marketing on 13th October. We are rapidly approaching a total of 100,000 learners who have studied across all of our Southampton MOOCs – a suite of programmes that started less than a year ago.
