This is just to let you know that the Second International Conference on Mathematics Textbook Research and Development (ICMT-2) will be held as follows:
Venue: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Host university: Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ)
Date: 7-11 May 2017
Please kindly note that our Brazilian colleagues have done most diligent work in preparation and hence suggested, for all good reasons, the change of venue from Sao Paulo to Rio de Janeiro, which is another great city of Brazil and one of the most beautiful cities in the world as everyone will agree (I think), as well as the change of dates from April to 7-11 May 2017 (for cheaper accommodation, etc.).
For the IPC of ICMT-2, Professor Gurt Schuring (UFRJ) will serve as the Chair, Professor Ubiratan d’Ambrosio (University of Campinas/São Paulo) the Honorary Chair, and Professor Lianghuo Fan (University of Southampton) Co-chair. The LOC Chair is Dr. Victor Giraldo (UFRJ), whom you might have met during ICMT2014 (or ICMT-1) at Southampton.
More details about ICMT-2 will be announced by Prof. Schuring and/or Dr. Giraldo in due course. Hope to see you in Rio de Janeiro, 2017!
