Moving away from home is pretty exciting, there are new friends to meet, activities to try out and an entirely new city to explore. We’re running walking tours of Southampton and Winchester next weekend to help you get to know some of our students’ favourite places around their city.
The tour will be a leisurely walk around the city visiting key locations and features of the newly released ethical and local living map. We want to make it easier for students to live ethically, eating locally-sourced food, exploring the unique culture and supporting local businesses or charities, so we’ve marked some of our highlights on this map.
View an online version of the map here or join one of our two tours:
- SOUTHAMPTON TOUR – sign up here. Saturday 26th September starting at 10:00 from the Students’ Union Reception (Building 42).
- WINCHESTER TOUR – sign up here. Sunday 27th September starting at 10:00 from the Winchester School of Art Reception.
Look out for the volunteers in red t-shirts who will be leading the tours! Remember to sign up using the links to claim your free Live My City goodie bag.
So how have we chosen these places?
These locations were chosen because they are ethical (vegan/vegetarian food, organic or responsible use of resources), use locally-sourced produce, are a charity or highlight the rich culture of the cities. Each of the Sabbatical Officers has chosen their favourite location too, so check out their recommendations!
Visit one of the places on the map? Don’t forget to take a photo and share it on social media using #LiveMyCity.
