A Nano Air Vehicle (NAV) is the air element of a Nano Unmanned Air System (NUAS). These are typically considered as sub-25 gram components. Some examples of these are shown below:
All of the above systems suffer from low endurance (3-20 min), lack of stable flight in typical wind gusts (10 m/s) and power supply issues. One of my recent research papers discusses these and other issues surrounding the implementation of practical MAV/NAV’s into the real world.
