Detailed below are some ideas of future features that could be implemented in a future design of ‘Be Seated’. This post is in conjunction with an earlier thought piece which can be seen here. These would transform our current design into a more dynamic website and fuller service.
- Website Integration – Availability
Integration with venue webpages for getting up-to-date information about seat availability for each event and would automatically update once a ticket became no longer available.
- Website Integration – Booking from be seated
Buying a ticket and booking a seat for a specific event at one of the venues available via ‘Be Seated’, this could be a further implementation of our website with a fully integrated ticketing system. This would require an integration with the venue’s website mechanism in order to update the availability of the seats after each booking.
- User profiles
When a user is registered, automatically his/her profile will be created where personal information will be displayed. Users will have the ability to edit their profiles and update them with more information about themselves and their interests.
- Comments on the existing reviews
Existing users will be able to comment on reviews of other users, enhancing the seat description or disagreeing with the review. Users will also have the ability to like the review if they agree with its content.
- User rating
Based on the number of reviews and the number of likes of a review a user has submitted then credits will be given to users that will denote and classify them as sources of reliable information and as active users. Since each user will have a profile, user ranking can be displayed in each of the profiles. In this way users will be attracted to post more reviews and to post more reliable ones for people to like and therefore to collect extra credits.
- Bonus for loyal users
Loyal members are the ones that post regular and reliable reviews. These members with high credits can gain bonuses such as free tickets, drinks etc. for their loyalty to our web service.
- More cities and categories
The current system includes only the largest cities in the UK. In the future more cities and their venues will be added to the system as well as new categories of types of venues.
- Website integration with other social networks – Twitter & Instagram
Users will be able to register or login using their existing accounts not only for Facebook, which is currently integrated in our system, but also with other social networks like Twitter and Instagram.
