Clinical Academic Facilities
The academic time can be spent in our purpose built Clinical Academic Facilities (CAF), at Southampton General Hospital, or at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust
This facility provides four teaching rooms, which include a skills room with 6 beds. There are a number of āhot desksā available at the CAF for staff use.
Southampton General Hospital, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust
Researchers in Southampton now have the benefit of a dedicated, brand new facility to develop and support pioneering research into patient safety and essential care.
The facility boasts modern laboratories and facilities for research that will benefit patients at their bedside, including areas such as preventing pressure ulcers, nutritional support, infection control and end of life care.
The Faculty of Health Sciences, together with several local NHS organisations, has developed an innovative clinical academic pathway for doctoral and post doctoral fellows. Information on Clinical Academic Careers can be found under the Career Pathways link on the left hand side of this page.
