MSc students prepare for successful job-hunting
With only another six weeks left before ECS MSc students complete their degree programmes, students were able to gain useful knowledge from the University’s Career Destinations and Visa Office teams, at a specially arranged seminar. The event was arranged by ECS PhD student Anthony Thomas, who leads a team of doctoral students providing mentoring support for the Masters students.
Many of our international Masters students are keen to remain in the UK after completing their degrees, and many have had varied industrial experience before coming to the UK. Since the MSc programme is specifically designed to provide high-level knowledge in very specific areas of knowledge, the students’ skills are highly valued by industry, with many of our students finding employment with leading UK and international companies, and a significant proportion also working in the local tech industry around Southampton.
