Marwell’s Zany Zebras in Winchester

Winchester City Council and Winchester BID are working with Marwell Wildlife to create a Zany Zebra sculpture on the popular Marwell’s Zany Zebras trail that goes live in Southampton City Centre between 16 July and 25 September 2016.  A mini trail in Winchester city centre, sponsored by Winchester BID, will also feature the design on small scale zebras positioned in the windows of businesses in the city centre, and a further mini–trail will also be running at Marwell Zoo.

Having reviewed a series of submitted themes from artists across the UK we have decided we would like to offer a second opportunity for our district’s own creative sector to showcase their talents and  are therefore extending the deadline and  inviting submissions from local artists to join the shortlist of four artists from the national submission pool.

The theme of the zebra is King Alfred (taking inspiration from the Thornycroft statue on the Broadway) the deadline is midnight, Sunday 28 February 2016.

Please follow the instructions on the attached forms to submit your artwork direct to the team at Marwell Zoo. You can send your design to zanyzebras@marwell.org.uk  or to by post FAO Kirstie Mathieson at:

Marwell Zoo,
Thompsons Lane,
Colden Common,
Winchester,
SO21 1JH

Please note, only King Alfred themed designs will be considered for shortlisting.
