Internships at Rare

Established in 1985 to focus on the expanding console market, we partnered with Nintendo and quickly sealed a reputation for quality with titles including BattletoadsDonkey Kong Country and GoldenEye.

OVERVIEW

Participating in a Rare internship is a remarkable opportunity. It inspires you to bring your passion and enthusiasm to work every day and to contribute to the games being made at a world-class company. Every day you will gain invaluable real life experience working and learning alongside some of the most talented people in the industry.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We expect you to go all-in and bring your passion for gaming with you, regardless of the team you join. It all begins with your onboarding into a real job role, where you’ll belong to an established team working alongside industry experts. Throughout the placement your learning and development won’t stop and you will receive on-the-job coaching, mentoring and personal development from leaders in their field. As a valued part of the team, we’ll expect you to give your insights and opinions and make a real contribution to our business!

HOW TO APPLY

Please submit your application below via the relevant discipline link, including a copy of your CV and portfolio. We realise that your portfolio may be a work in progress and that’s fine, it’s your potential that’ll catch our eye.

Please mention whether you heard about our scheme through social media, an industry event or your university.

We’d also ask you to present a short narrative on why you are applying to Rare. Remember we’re a very creative bunch here, so although you can apply via the more traditional cover letter style, you should aim to stand out. This is your opportunity to showcase your passion for the role and tell us why you should be selected! Your application could include a short video testimonial, an artistic creation, a poem, a song – if it shows your heart is set on being part of our team, go ahead and include it.
