Enterprise Design Opportunity
ReJuice is a student led social enterprise operating at the University of Southampton. We’re a smoothie enterprise that has recently begun rebranding and we’re looking for design ideas to become the face of our enterprise.
This is an amazing opportunity to have your work feature in a professional environment, representing the identity of a social enterprise that’s changing the lives of the homeless in Southampton. If successful, you will receive a cash prize, your design will feature on all our branded material, in addition to representing our enterprise at the national competition next year. Needless to say, this will make a fantastic addition to any CV. The design brief is as follows:
What is ReJuice?
ReJuice is a new and exciting social enterprise, run by the student society, Enactus Southampton, an internationally renowned team of entrepreneurial students. The enterprise takes food waste, and uses it to make and sell smoothies on our university campus. Our aim is to employ a homeless or at risk individual in a part-time position on the stall, thereby reducing food waste and homelessness in Southampton.
Target market:
Operating within the University/ in a predominantly student inhabited area, the business will be targeting students, particularly those who are health conscious and/or have an interest in sustainable living. However, there is potential in the future for us to sell to the public, so the design should be appropriate for use in a professional, competitive business environment.
Our Brand Identity:
Ultimately, the most important factor of our identity is our approach to environmental and social sustainability. Therefore, the primary aim should be to convey that message as clearly as possible.
There are a lot of bold, flashy smoothie brands out there, but that’s not something we’d like to emulate. Instead, we’d like to align more with the design scheme of Innocent Smoothies ( http://www.innocentdrinks.co.uk/the-innocent-promise). Simple design with a delicate, pastel colour scheme.
The design can, but does not have to feature the name of the enterprise. If done well enough, the logo can be a stand-alone icon that represents the brand and it’s ethos.
What we Require:
- A Logo:
- That can be used on e.g. T-shirt, apron, tablecloth and website.
- Preferably, but not necessarily designed digitally.
- Logo with accompanying text line:
- We welcome the designer to create their own strapline, however, ideally something that follows the theme: ReCycle, ReBuild, ReJuice. / ReJuice Smoothies: ReCycling waste and ReBuilding lives.
- Digital Banner for use in the header of a website and/or cover photo for a Facebook page.
- Any items in addition to those listed would be greatly appreciated.
If you are interested in submitting a design, please register your interest by the 15th June. Once received, applicants will have until midnight on the 30th June to submit their designs. If chosen, you will receive a prize of £50, in addition to the opportunity to work with us in the future, developing the brand and designing material for future enterprises.
