Any IT recommendations?

Can anyone advise what IT equipment (if any) will be required or useful for CIP students to take to Portus?

Excuse my ignorance, I am afraid I am a bit of a technophobe, and can barely manage my smartphone. Will we need to access online material throughout our field school experience and would something like an iPad be necessary?

Hi Caroline,

the idea of this website is that it gives you the opportunity to prepare for the field school and afterwards to provide you with additional chance to discuss the assignments, share information etc. Whilst you are in Italy we will be concentrating on all the field activities. Those that require a computer will make use of the project’s own equipment. There is no need for you to bring anything yourself to site. We are hoping that where we are staying will have web access but I would assume that you will have to go into Fiumicino to go online, or use a smartphone. If you do bring your own IT equipment then you need to make sure it is insured yourself. Similarly we don’t require you to do anything online because that can prove expensive.
