SOCIAM, for SOCIAl Machines, is an interdisciplinary, multi-institution research programme funded by the EPSRC to study, investigate and interrogate ways that human collaboration and problem solving can be shaped by the Web and other communications and coordination mediums.

The primary research sites are University of Southampton, University of Oxford, and University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom.  A complete list of partners (industrial and academic) is available on our main sociam.org site.
