Our research centre was pleased to host a visit by Dr Yusuke Shinno, Osaka Kyoiku University, Japan, accompanied by Dr Taro Fujita, University of Exeter, UK, on Tuesday 8 December. The visit provided an opportunity to discuss the research being carried out by Dr Shinno and Dr Fujita into learners’ difficulties with mathematical induction, a component of the mathematics curriculum introduced at upper secondary school level (with some countries reserving the topic for university level).
