PhD student gains KSA Excellence Award

ymaz1g10.JPG_SIA - JPG - Fit to Width_144_trueYahya Al Zahrani, a PhD student from Saudi Arabia specialising in mathematics education, recently received an Excellence Award in the form of a certificate from Cultural Attaché, Embassy of Saudi Arabia in London. Yahya has a broad research interest with a particular focus on primary mathematics teacher education. Yahya’s award is in recognition of his distinction by publishing in outstanding journals and at international conferences. Yahya’s PhD supervisor is Keith Jones, an internationally-recognized expert in mathematics education. “We are very happy that Yahya has received this award for his outstanding work. Our MaSE Research Centre has a large number of doctoral students from different countries, and we feel very proud of their achievement and we expect all of them to be leading scholars and make important contribution to their home countries and to the world in research and development of education and mathematics education. We are ambitious in this”, says Prof. Lianghuo Fan, Head of the MaSE Research Centre.
