SeaCity Museum, located in the civic centre of Southampton, tells the story of the people of the city, their fascinating lives and historic connections with Titanic and the sea.

Neta Shaby and Ran Peleg, lecturers in the School of Education, specialising in research on informal learning environment, such as museums, organised the visit for the students. Neta and Ran prepared videos for the students, introducing theories about learning in informal learning environments and research on the advantages of such learning environments.

In the museum, the group had a guided tour with one of the museum educators, offering an insider look to the museum educational agenda and pedagogy on the museum floor. After the guided tour, the students explored the other exhibitions on their own (or with their friends).

The visit was a great success, we hope to form a new tradition – organising a visit to the SeaCity museum every year!
