Dr Jenny Byrne, Associate Professor in Education at Southampton Education School, has secured funding and will be leading the qualitative evaluation of stage 2 ( pilot) of the HeadStart project.

The HeadStart project aims:

• To raise young people’s aspirations and outcomes by providing them with the tools and access to activities to strengthen their resilience.
• Through prevention and early intervention with young people and their families, to disrupt the journey towards mental ill-health

Jenny will be supported by a Senior Research Assistant and together form part of the evaluation team including Professor Viv Speller and Cassandra Powers. This evaluation will contribute to the overall evaluation of Stage 2 and to the development of the project proposal, especially the research and evaluation components of Stage 3.
